SARAH WRIGHT
I consider myself a Data Explorer because I am fascinated with technology and data. Yet, as the world becomes more data-centered, I wonder how it can help us and what role we play. In university, I received the opportunity to be a data science major. While working with datasets of different sizes, I was amazed by how connected and disconnected they can make us. This idea led me to study the interdisciplinary connections that data creates. Between research and pursuing my interest, I see how data can change how we connect for the better. Now I devote my time to building models that can pull people together through perspective rather than division.

* Developed a NLP (Natural Language Processing) model in python that predicts, with 70% Accuracy,
whether a tweet is describing a natural disaster or is a misnomer using data using over 7,000 hashtags and tweets
* Collaborated with a partner to learn and teach the fundamentals of NLP to a class of 15 students,
focusing on method, such as part of speech tagging and lexicalization, to increase the accuracy of future model
Improving Admissions Results
